my take: I initially had a hard time getting into this book, but was warmed eventually by her folksy, friendly tone. As she gives the history of marriage, she weaves in her own story post Eat, Pray, Love so that by the end I felt like she was a friend chatting about her ordeal of getting married for a second time. She’s kind of a frank girl. 

As an information geek, I gleaned a lot about various cultural expressions of marriage and the religious evolution of marriage.
