Looking for an escape read? Something to distract you from, say, global chaos? I read this on a blissful vacation and it has that vacation read feel, even if you are in your real life in these ever so unreal times.
It’s the cast of characters in this newest from Jojo Moyes that captured my heart, and after I finished I missed the houseful of misfits.
Some might say the main character, Lila, is a little hard to like. Hey! She might be an enneagram 1. We are queens of resentment. Or maybe she’s a 4 and a bit of an drama queen? Let me know what you see.
Topsy turvy home life with animals, landscaping, and music. Four stars.

I’m not sure about enneagram typing her, but I think she is not an upholder like me, ha! That school play costume drama just made me a little nutty. I did love the plotline with the two grandfather figures and their characters. Made me think a bit of the chaos but ultimately endearing qualities of Amy Poeppel’s The Sweet Spot.
