my take: This is right up my alley … informative, practical, full of anecdotal stories, (some of very famous people), self-helpy with lots of scientific studies. The authors set out to discover if willpower can be increased and, if so, how.

Good news! Yes, you can increase your willpower … but bad news! For people trying to lose weight. read that chapter, for sure.

I work with recovering drug addicts and alcoholics, so I was very interested in what part willpower plays. Lots of interesting stuff there.

This is written in the breezy, interesting style of Malcolm Gladwell’s books – easy to read and lots of fun facts to drop at dinner parties or along the sidelines (soccer moms, et al).
