my take: Hubby and daughter have read all the Tana French novels … this is my first and the one to start with apparently. This mystery has great characters, but as far as I could tell, not obvious clues as to who done it.

It’s always nice to go out of our typical genre for Book Chicks. I missed the discussion, but I hear everybody enjoyed it. The plot is complex it’s great mental fun.

What was weird for me was the ending … too close to a real life situation. And that’s all I can say, because I don’t want to spoil it for you.

Hubby and daughter just bought & read the latest Tana French in hardcover and gushed over it. They say the characters change from book to book. If you’re looking for a new author with mysterious flair, Tana’s your girl.

my verdict: worth a read.
