My take: I loved this! A great cast of characters, great plot, great depiction of the 1930’s, great fun with literary allusions, and great use of photography motif and actual photographs between the four seasons.
The author is male and created a very strong and convincing female main character… I loved her voice and her ideas. The novel also has a strong structure – a bit of reading on amortowles.com reveals a great interview with the author for bits about the how and why. Great site.
We had a good discussion at Book Chicks for those who braved the blizzard. We recommend. To anybody. Everybody.

My verdict: excellent!
I have been recommending this to everyone too… so it's nice to hear that you loved it as much as I did! I thought it was like reading a Fitzgerald novel but way better.

I just have to say how nice it is to have a top picks list. I've been navigating the library's kindle options, and getting a lot of romance novels to sift through (I haven't read anything to warrant this, I swear!) ….this is so much easier to find the good stuff! Thanks again, Lee.
