my take: Another book on addiction/recovery … this is a memoir of an alcoholic on how she learned to live without being “wasted.”

Although it’s about alcohol addiction, I think her story can be applied to any bad habit one is trying to overcome … it’s about that uncomfortable place where the security blanket of habit or addiction (drugs, cigarettes, gambling, over-eating) has been dropped and the vulnerability of living without it.

The writing is a bit brash & crass, but an interesting insight into one woman’s life without booze … if you’ve ever been out to eat with an alcoholic … do you order a drink or not? She’s got an opinion.

my verdict: worth a read …. I handed my copy off to my ladies in recovery… eager to hear their response
