The hot, dusty, unrelentingly isolating Australian outback takes front and center in this excellent crime story. Fantastic get-lost-in-a-book feels from this one. Jane Harper is a master at an emergent reader experience. I was reaching for water and wanting more of these characters. 4.5/5 stars.
