A really good summer of reading in part thanks to Rebecca Makkai. This toggles between AIDS epidemic in Chicago in the ’80’s and Paris in the 2012’s. A riveting and emotional look at the trauma and post-traumatic effects of epidemics and wars. This works on so many levels, and most especially a very well-told tale. 5/5 stars.
